R U L E S
OOC;
• There is a word-count of 300 words. This is a literate site, and honestly, 300 words isn't much. The bigger and better the post, the more someone has to respond to!
• Be respectful. Treat others how you wish to be treated. No one likes to be disrespected--so don't do it.
• One account per person, please. This keeps things neat and tidy, and makes Activity Checks much easier, and therefore keeps the site running smoothly.
• All images must not exceed 550x550 pixels. This keeps the board from stretching unattractively, so please follow it! Tables can be longer, though please keep the width at 550px or less.
• Give credit where credit is due. There should be credit and each and every image on the site, unless it belongs to the person using it.
• No drama! Drama only causes problems, so it would be appreciated if you kept it to yourselves.
• Your account will be deleted after three weeks unexplained of inactivity. It makes sense, no? If you're going to be away for even a week, it's expected that you should post in the Away board.
• Power-playing, God-Modding, etc is not allowed. Standard rules here, guys. This, of course, is with the exception of herd/pack/pride leaders. They're allowed to power-play to a certain degree, such as nipping, biting, and/or kicking.
• You app must be accepted, in order to roleplay. Just in-case changes must be made, it makes more sense.
• Character stats must be included when posting, or you must have a link to your logs in your signature. I'm sure it's not just myself that hates not knowing about who I'm replying too; this keeps things easy, and helps others from going on a wid search for information on a character they're posting with.
CHARACTER RULES;
• All species of animal are allowed, as long as they're not currently banned. Extinct and/or fantasy animals aren't allowed either, as this is a realistic animal rpg. A list of animals you're allowed to use can be seen HERE.
• All characters must age every Spring. This way everyone ages at once, and things can be kept organized.
• Characters cannot exceed an unrealistic age for their species. Please, no hundred-year old goats, guys--just be realistic. Google the average lifespan on the animal you plan on creating, because trust me, I will--and if yours is unrealistic, I'll make you correct it. Plus, we don't want a buncha old geisers flailing around, do we?
• You cannot join with a pregnant female. It just makes sense, no? You would have no way of knowing specific stats of the sire, which is needed, in order for the child statistics.
• Males and females can lead packs/herds, etc. Odd, perhaps, though I know the site is bound to get more than one female who won't submit to a male--so, why not let 'em lead? Keep in mind though, most males are naturally stronger than females. This could arise prollems, in the future.
• An character younger then six months cannot be created. Unless you have a player willing to foster/adopt said character. Young need guidance, so it wouldn't make sense to have a bunch of three-months old alpacas frolicking about without parental aid.
• You are allowed to play one beta, and one lead. This, however, discludes all agreements made in-character. So, say Sally had a mare that fell in love with Richie's lead stallion, and he appointed her lead mare soon after. Would that count? Certainly not. If you challenge for a position, or agree on it OOC, then it counts.
• Leads/Alphas must be posting at least every 8 days. We need to make sure activity stays strong, so this is the perfect rule to keep those playing important characters posting.
CHALLENGING/FIGHTING;
• A Lead/Alpha can only be challenged once every two weeks. Would you appreciate being bombarded with challenges any more often? I think not!
• If a Lead/Alpha does not respond to a challenge post in 3 days, the challenger wins by default. However, exceptions can be made if any of the participating members are away.
• All battles will be posted in whatever lands are being challenged for. Make sure you leave a note in the appropriate board to let staff know there's a battle going on!
• Animals taking part in battle have seven days to reply, before the other will win by default. This is important, once again to keep activity high.
• At least 30 posts is required to challenge. We don't want people joining and challenging leads right away--it's important to know what you're getting into.
BREEDING/BIRTHING;
• Breeding can only take place during Spring. Once again, to keep it realistic, and monitor the number of young.
• Birthing can only take place during Autumn. And yes, females can get pregnant again the following Spring.
• No graphic breeding. We aren't here to scar children, remember!
• Breeding can occur in any land. Once again though, remember to keep it PG-13. If you do want it to result in pregnancy, you MUST post in the appropriate board.
• Breeding can only take place when a character is an appropriate age. If your characters attempt to breed while too young, there will be no resulting child.
• All offspring stats will be posted by staff, in response to your request thread. Do not fight with them over the response--it's useless, and besides, you can always change the child's appearance by purchasing the ability to do so in the store.
STEALING;
• Only Leaders and Beta's can steal. It doesn't make sense not to have land and be stealing members of a pack/herd, does it?
• Only one steal attempt per character per every three days. Being overwhelmed with steals is far too unfair.
• The alpha/lead being stolen from must post in the stealing thread, saying they've noticed, and that they wish to put a stop to it. Only then will the fight go to the dice; even goes to the stealer, and odd means the stealee stays.
• Should a lead wish for his/her members back, they can challenge for him/her after a week. The week is counted as a rest-period for the challenger, but after that time is up, horses can easily attempt a steal once more.
