PROXIMO
"we were the victims of ourselves"
"we were the victims of ourselves"
NAME • Proximo
SPECIES • Tiger
BREED • White Siberian
AGE • 6 years
GENDER • Female
SEXUALITY • Unknown
PERSONALITY •Born into slavery and, knowing nothing else, she is content with such. Proximo has never had dreams of being free, as she has never been thus and doesn’t know it is a possibility, and has never attempted to escape. She’s watched other slaves escape, but has neither helped them nor hurt them. She merely watched as they tried to scramble away before they were caught.
Sadly, Proximo’s life was destined to be that of a gladiator’s even before she was born. Being tossed into an arena and forced to fight for you life has a way of making you the emotional equivalent of a bright wall, and Proximo is no exception. She has grown tough, both physically and mentally, and stoic. You have as much chance of trying to appeal to her sense of mercy as stopping a tidal wave with your bare hands. She could be ordered to kill an infant and she’d go about it the same as she would a convicted criminal. Emotions have no place in her life.
So far as love goes, Proximo has never known it. She wasn’t with her parents long enough to feel love, and feels no love for her masters. She only knows that she must obey, and she sometimes even finds joy in her tasks. Mind you, it’s not for the task itself, nor the motive behind them, but the fact that she can complete them so readily, so easily, and so accurately.

APPEARANCE •Coming face-to-face with Proximo is nothing short of terrifying. Her very presence is intimidating, made more so by the sheer size of the beast and her unusual coloring. Her white and black striped pelt provides contrast that highlights her piercing blue eyes. The cat's body is lean but starkly muscular, promising both strength and agility. She has all the look of a monster, and all the strength of a freight train. Perhaps the more unnerving part about the big cat is that she is silent. Though massive jowls part only to allow her to pant, rarely ever for words. She wears a large metal choke-chain around her neck: a symbol of her slavery.
PELT COLOR • Base coat of stark white, overlayed by a striped pattern of black.
EYE COLOR • Blue

HISTORY •Proximo’s parents were the result of generations of very selective breeding. Her lineage was one of incredible strength and fighting prowess, showing promise on the battlefield even at a young age. They were bred not only for their ability to handle themselves in battle, but also for their stunning color and quiet demeanor. The white pelted cats were the most feared in the land for their silent-but-deadly attitudes, and ruthless masters.
When Proximo was born, she was a true credit to the genius of her breeding. Even before she could see she was swatting her siblings away from their mother’s milk. As soon as she was weaned she was taken from her parents and dumped into a life of fury and violence. Unlike the rest of her litter, she took to slavery quite well. Instead of becoming enraged with her captors and attacking them every chance she got, she merely plodded along behind them, quietly doing as told without question. In fact, she rarely ever spoke beyond “Yes, master.” This highly pleased her owners, and made her a very valuable slave.
Some wondered if she was mentally deficient, and that was why she never spoke or showed emotion, and never questioned why she was tasked to do something or hesitated to carry out her orders. It only ever took one glance at her in the arena to prove that she was just as intelligent, if not more so, as any of her owners. When she was sold, some refused to buy her, fearing that she was so smart she would strike them in their sleep, or just when they began to place trust in her. Proximo of course never considered such a thing, but it made her reputation that much more frightening.
